finally!

Praise the lord! Guess who FINALLY got a hair cut?!

I did!! Remember this? And that post was back in January of this year! It's now the day before October. It's crazy that I went that long without even getting a trim! Sorry to disappoint you all, but I did NOT get my hair dyed or get any highlights. I just had it cut, but I did do something a little different. Instead of doing the regular side bangs, I got full bangs. I forgot to take a before shot, but here's after...

See? The last time I had bangs like this was when I was 10 years old. So, does it look like I'm 10 again? Haha.

I kinda like it. I'm just scared that I won't be able to style it the way they did at the salon. I'm so not good with hair. Just ask my sisters. =) They always had to help me with my hair for parties and stuff. And it took me forever to learn how to straighten my hair by myself and now I have to maintain bangs. Oh boy, this is going to be fun.

Well , I hope you guys have a wonderful weekend. The weather is starting to get cooler, which is awesome! I get to buy more clothes for the fall season. Oh, and SHOES! So until next time!

oh Grad Images!

I swear they are out to get me! I think their main purpose is to make my life somewhat miserable. Just kidding! Haha.

They did it again though! You would have thought that the first time they sent it to my house and I never ordered anything would have been enough for them to get the message that I'm not interested in purchasing my graduation photos. But NOOOO WAY JOSE! They decide to send me another notice with the open window right on my portrait! It's the funkiest picture I've ever seen of myself and they think it's alright to show it off to the world (ok, more like the mail people)!

Usually I probably would have let this go, but the reason I'm complaining is because one day I opened the door to find a new mail man trying to deliver our mail. Guess who the mail man was? One of my patients from work! He's my age and he's pretty cute! So embarrassing! He now knows where I live and he probably has now seen my funky picture from graduation! Haha. Only this kind of situation would happen to me! Just my luck! So I beg of you Grad Images...please stop sending it to me! I don't want him and the world to keep seeing that ugly picture of me! Haha.

In other news, I lasted 40 days without coffee. I actually made a cup of coffee yesterday at work and it was pretty good, but I don't think I'll get addicted like I once was to it. Progress? I think so!

(Don't mind the retarded picture of me. Haha)

You guys should be proud of me cause I know I am! If I can do this whole no coffee thing for 40 days, I think I can lose 20lbs before my birthday! Haha! We shall try it! But I'm not a big fan of going to the gym so I think I'll just try running everyday for at least a half hour and possibly start doing Zumba again. You guys think I can do it? I hope so! I'll try to keep you guys updated!

Well I hope you all have a wonderful rest of the week! I know I will. No work tomorrow! =)

10 years.

So, with me being so sleepy yesterday, I completely forgot to mention that it was my 10 year anniversary at work! Crazy, huh?! You're probably wondering.."How old is this chick?!" Haha Well, I am, indeed, 25 years old (I can't believe I just said that out loud!) and I started working at this great place at the age of 15. It was my first job and I'm still here. I guess you can say that's how much I love working here...sometimes. Haha. I still remember the day I was hired. It goes a little something like this...

(A 15 year-old me sitting in the waiting room and waiting for my sister to finish making candy bags on the floor...)
Elaine: Hi there!
Me: Hi.(Smiling)
Elaine: What's your name?
Me: Phoebe.
Elaine: That's a beautiful name! Do you want to work for me?
Me: Ok.

Don't you think that was the best interview ever?! Haha. I think I impressed her with my great one word answers. The next day I came in, filled out some paper work, and started filing charts. That was pretty much all I did. Filed charts, pulled out charts for the next day, and eat cookies from our little lounge area. Haha. Now I'm an Orthodontic Assistant and really love what I do. How many of you can really say that you like going to work? Of course I have my days when I don't want to go in at all, but for the most part I don't mind it. I get to interact with kids all day and it's pretty laid back. I don't even need to take any work home, which is a great plus for me. I think that's one of the reasons why I opted out of being a teacher. I didn't want to take work home with me and spend nights grading papers and planning a lesson for the next day. I used to see my mom grading papers and how tired she was. I just don't want to be like that. Another one of the perks with working here is that I get to work with some wonderful people like MY SISTERS! Haha. Yes, we're all that close. We even have our cousin Macy here too when she's not in school. It's pretty great and I feel very blessed to have found this wonderful place at such a young age. Working here has definitely shown me what I eventually want to do or what my calling really is. TEETH! Haha. I'm thinking of going for my Dental Hygiene License eventually...once I find the perfect school.

day 19.

I know I haven't really complained THAT much about not having coffee, but for some reason it is hitting me hard today. I had trouble sleeping last night, which is weird cause it's not like I took a nap yesterday. I tried so hard not to nap thinking I would be able to get a good night's sleep. Nope...tossed and turned all night and kept waking up to blow my nose. I don't know why I'm so stuffy too. Man, I'm just complaining a whole lot on this post, huh? Haha.

Well I'm currently having a little trouble staying awake at work and I'm so tempted to make coffee. What to do... what to do... I wonder if decaf would help. HELP ME!!

trip.

I can't believe it's already September and that autumn is just right around the corner! I'm actually pretty excited for the weather change, but I know I will eventually miss the summer. I feel like I worked so much that I didn't get to enjoy it as much as I should have. Oh well! There is always next year right? Haha.

Anyway, before we completely move into the fall season, let's catch up and tell you all about my trip.

So, Eric has been in this intense one year nursing program since the beginning of the summer. He is constantly studying his butt off and we pretty much never really get a chance to see each other, which I'm totally ok with! Haha. I'm just very proud of him and how far he has gotten. He's definitely one of those hard working students. =) I, on the other hand, have been working my butt off all summer too and have been trying to get a full time position at my job since I have now graduated and have nothing else to do. *Note to self: Pick up diploma from school. Haha.* When we both found out that we had a week off from both school and work, which also happened to land at the same time, we decided to take a little get away. We wanted to go to a place that was still close to home, but still far enough to call it a trip. So we decided to go to Sandy Hook Beach in New Jersey.

It was absolutely beautiful there. We actually stayed in a town called Atlantic Highlands, which is 3 miles away from the beach. And I just loved it there. The hotel we stayed at was located in the middle of this small town where everything was walking distance. There were restaurants around, a movie theater, an ice cream shop, the ferry that takes 40 minutes to get to NYC, and even this small cafe owned by 3 sisters. The beach was beautiful. It wasn't too crowded and it has a great view of the Manhattan skyline. There are several beaches you could go to and they even have a clothing optional beach! Haha. We actually tried going there just to experience it, but the parking lot was pretty crowded. Also, towards the end of the peninsula, there is a historic site of an old army base. It was pretty cool. I had such a great time just relaxing and being able to spend some quality time with Eric. Here are some pictures from our trip.

And that's most of the pictures we took. We were too busy laying out in the sun to take any other pictures.  Haha. I definitely wanna take a trip there again next year! I mean come on... a restaurant with all you can eat snow crab legs for $30?! I'm there! And maybe we'll be brave and try the clothing optional beach too! Haha!

Well, I hope you guys have an awesome weekend!
