fitness friday.

I know this is super TMI, but it's that time of the month for me and let's just say my mood swings have been C-R-A-Z-Y! I don't know what's different this month, but I have been so off lately. I was actually feeling pretty ok on Monday and decided that I would run as soon as I got home from work. I got on the treadmill and ran for only half a mile! Ugh...so terrible. It also didn't help that my Asthma was acting up big time due to allergies. I did power walk for another half a mile on a high incline and felt somewhat accomplished when I finished. However, I slacked off the rest of the week. I'm so sad and disappointed with myself. I definitely need to redeem myself next week.

Eating habit? Still the same, but with a bit more chocolate this week. Hey, don't judge me. I'm a girl and like I said, it's that time of the month for me. I need my sweets! Haha. Sorry I had nothing great to report this week. I'm going to try to move forward from this and make it better next week!

fitness friday.

Wow...the last couple of posts I've done are all about me working out. Sorry! I promise to have something more fun soon! I don't want to start putting people to sleep, right Miss Pamela? Haha.

Anyway, Ayesha Curry's challenge for Fitness Friday this week was to drink at least 64 oz. of water. She said she felt like she wasn't hydrated enough throughout the week. Luckily for me, one of my New Year's resolution was to drink more water! So I guess you can say I've definitely completed that challenge already. :)

On top of that, I ran a mile on the treadmill twice this week (Monday and Tuesday) and on Wednesday, I did this arm workout I found on Pinterest using 5 lb and 3 lb weights. Man, was it tough! My arms were burning like 2 minutes into the workout! Peejay was making fun of me, but I haven't done any arm exercises in forever so it was really hard! After the arm workout, I power walked on the highest incline on the treadmill for about 5 minutes and got my gluts burning as well. Haha.

Sadly, my eating habit is still the same (what else is new?!). But I'm not too upset about it because it's definitely so much better than it was before. My junk food intake is pretty limited and I'm not eating out as much as I used to. Let's hope I can change this soon! Hope you guys have a wonderful weekend!

fitness friday.

Hi guys!

It's that time of the week again and I just wanted to update you guys on my progress. I ran on the treadmill  three times again this week! I did it on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday for a mile each day and got to run my fastest mile on Monday, which I'm so proud to say! I think it took me about 13 minutes and 23 seconds for that mile. On average,  it usually takes me about 14-15 minutes so being that it was under 14 minutes is a huge accomplishment for me. *big cheesy smile* I am still struggling with my Asthma, which is why I'm trying not to run more than a mile a day.

My eating habits have not changed, but I'm getting pretty used to idea of not having that many sweets/junk food. I may or may not have had a couple of donuts over the weekend though. I know...EVIL! One thing I did notice, specifically today, is that my mood is different. I didn't get to do anything last night cause I went to a Yankees game with some friends after work and I feel so moody today. I feel like one little thing can set me off at any moment and I'm not liking this at all. I wonder if it has anything to do with not working out or if it's just one of those days. I guess I'll see if it's different next week or something.

Well, I hope you guys have a wonderful weekend!

fitness friday.

So, I've been following Ayesha Curry's blog and YouTube for a couple of weeks now (she's NBA player Stephen Curry's wife) and I have to say, I absolutely love her and her little family! On her blog, she does this series called Fitness Friday. Every Friday, she'll talk about anything related to health and fitness for the week in hopes to inspire and support others. She'll share things like healthy foods she's eaten, different cleanses or workouts she has tried, and she'll even share if she failed to do anything that week. I decided to follow her trend so I can continue on this path of dieting and healthy eating.

For this week, I'm proud to say that I have started running on the treadmill again! I actually ran twice last week and three times (so far) this week. I ran a mile Monday, Tuesday and Thursday and gave myself a rest day on Wednesday. I'm still struggling though because my Asthma starts to act up as I'm running and come on, I haven't done this in about over a year! So of course I'll be struggling a bit. I'd actually like to think what I've done so far is pretty good. I may squeeze a run later after work making it #4 for this week. :) As for food, I haven't gone completely healthy yet, but have definitely done a good job with staying away from junk food. I do find myself in a constant battle with rice. I'm Asian afterall and I eat rice with everything. Haha. I just need to focus and go on that strictly protein diet like I did before.

Well, that's all the update I have for now. Let's hope I have more to share next week!

book three.

So, it's been a while, but I finally dusted off my Nook. :)

For book three, I decided to read something I had already downloaded on my Nook a while ago, but never got around to reading it. And that is Jane Austen's Pride & Prejudice. I never got to read it in high school or anything so I figured I'd give it a shot. I knew it was a lengthy one, but I was feeling pretty confident I'd finish it in a month. Sadly, I could not finish it in time. I'm not sure if it was the language and the different terms they used back in the day, but I felt like I was a pretty slow reader with this one. I'm usually a pretty fast reader, but I guess it was cause I had to stop a few times to look up what certain things meant and even re-read stuff (Yes! I'm slow. Haha).

I'm a bit disappointed in myself for not finishing it, but I am proud of myself for making it half way through. Just because I technically failed this month, I'm going to continue to finish the book. I hope to finish it soon so I can start book four and finish it by the end of April.

Two books in a month?! Wish me luck! :)
